Welcome

Welcome to IN THE ZONE — WrestleUTA: Orlando’s debut recap from The WrestleZone training facility!

John Phillips: Hello, everyone! I’m John Phillips, alongside Mark Bravo, and today we’re your guide through the non–stop thrills of WrestleUTA: Orlando’s very first over-the-top rosters battle royals to crown the inaugural Florida State Champions.

Mark Bravo: That’s right, John. Ten fierce women battled for the Florida State Women’s Championship, and sixteen rugged men fought for the Florida State Championship. Let’s dive into the carnage.

Women's Battle Royal

John Phillips: Ten competitors threw down immediately. Nancy Rhodes charged with a discus clothesline that nearly sent Jamie Mayo over the top, but Jamie clung to the rope.

Mark Bravo: Early chaos saw Carolyn Daniel and Colleen Wagner team up, dumping Shannon Ray with a double suplex spot that shook the ring! But Shannon fought her way back in, planting Colleen with a running knee to the ribs.

John Phillips: Mid-match, Athena Storm lit up the ring with a breathtaking springboard DDT on Dhalia Cross, only for Angela Hall to cut Athena off with a charging spear on the apron that sent Athena crashing between the guardrail and the steps!

Mark Bravo: Meanwhile, Gabrielle Davis used her speed to eliminate Nancy Rhodes with a picture-perfect tornado DDT — Nancy hit the mat so hard the ring shook!

John Phillips: That left Angela Hall, Jamie Mayo, Carolyn Daniel, Gabrielle Davis, Dhalia Cross, Juno Sage, Colleen Wagner, and Shannon Ray. Juno Sage surprised everyone with a high-risk dive off the top rope, eliminating Shannon Ray and nearly taking out Carolyn Daniel in the process.

Mark Bravo: The turning point came when Angela Hall and Colleen Wagner collided center-ring. Colleen tried a gutbuster, but Angela countered into her signature Hallbreaker (a cutter), then hoisted Colleen over the top for a massive elimination!

John Phillips: The final five: Angela Hall, Gabrielle Davis, Dhalia Cross, Juno Sage, and Jamie Mayo. Juno attempted another dive, but Dhalia caught her mid-air and sent her crashing to the floor.

Mark Bravo: Next, Gabrielle Davis and Jamie Mayo traded stiff forearms—Jamie laid Gabrielle out with a running forearm smash, only for Gabrielle to fire back with a springboard elbow that almost clipped Jamie’s head clean off.

John Phillips: Suddenly, it was down to Angela Hall, Gabrielle Davis, and Dhalia Cross. Dhalia hit a picture-perfect superplex on Gabrielle, but Angela charged in with a crushing sidewalk slam that leveled Dhalia!

Mark Bravo: In the final showdown, Angela Hall climbed to the top rope and delivered a breathtaking missile dropkick to Gabrielle Davis, staggering her on the apron. Angela then rolled through, grabbed Gabrielle by the hair, and hurled her over the top rope!

John Phillips: Angela Hall is the FIRST EVER Florida State Women’s Champion! What a Cinderella story—an underdog victory for the ages!

Men's Battle Royal

John Phillips: Sixteen men entered the fray. Alexander Hill and Brandon Henderson opened with a violent exchange—Alexander nearly dumped Brandon with a running power slam, but Brandon landed on his feet and knocked Alexander out with a spinning heel kick.

Mark Bravo: Aaron Shaffer and Nicholas Herrera sparked early fireworks, trading German suplexes that had the crowd on its feet. But it was Ryan Munoz who delivered the night’s first big elimination, catching Nicholas with a surprise superkick on the apron.

John Phillips: Cristian Santos used his high-impact style next, hitting a standing moonsault on Donald Reid, sending Donald tumbling over the ropes and out by the steel steps.

Mark Bravo: Jarvis Valentine began his march to gold with a devastating double belly-to-back suplex on Daniel Lawrence and a second-rope blockbuster on Timothy Wong in rapid succession.

John Phillips: Mid-match alliances formed briefly—Mr. Juan Calderon and Angel Perez teamed up to target Gerald Moore, hoisting him for a double suplex. But Gerald powered out, tossed Angel over with a crucifix bomb, then back-elbowed Juan to eliminate him!

Mark Bravo: That left Brandon Henderson, Jarvis Valentine, Gerald Moore, Cristian Santos, and Rico Vance. Cristian tried to superkick Jarvis, but Jarvis caught him and drove him down with a spinebuster right at the ropes.

John Phillips: Gerry Moore charged Jarvis with a clothesline; Jarvis ducked and nailed Gerry with a massive sidewalk slam onto the floor to eliminate him!

Mark Bravo: In the final three — Jarvis Valentine, Brandon Henderson, and Cristian Santos — Cristian launched himself at Brandon with a flying forearm, only to be caught mid-air by Jarvis, who turned it into a thunderous powerbomb out of the ring!

John Phillips: One-on-one now: Jarvis vs. Brandon. Brandon hit Jarvis with a blazing gutbuster, then charged, but Jarvis blocked and blasted him with a brutal Death Valley driver.

Mark Bravo: Jarvis Valentine would then hit the Q Drop and toss Brandon Henderson over the top rope.

John Phillips: Jarvis Valentine is crowned the FIRST EVER Florida State Champion! Pure power conquers all.
